I'm a soup junkie i'll admit it. I'm a sucker for a good bowl of soup. So when come here it's usually just for an order of Tom Ka Gai with shirmp and a side of white rice. So I really haven't tried much of their menu. I will say though that my only issue with this place is that my soup is NEVER ready when I arrive. I don't see how that is even possible but apparently it is. With that said, their Tom Ka Gai is flavorful but not spicy ( I wish it were). If your in the area I would give this place a shot.

Consistently good Thai food. Try the pork with chinese broccoli leaves, you'll be surprised. We just tried the ribs which were fantastic. If you order hot saki, however, beware that their large size would be a regular size everywhere else. Service is good but fluctuates. Try it!

I used to really like this place, their chicken curry was amazing. I have been very disappointed in the quality of the food and the waiters/waitresses. The servers have had a lot of attitude and take a long time to serve drinks and food. Will not be going back any time soon.
(1)Nina L.
My first time here! Decent Thai food. You cant go wrong with the lunch special. Its easy to mix and match for a hearty meal. Plus it was super fast so we weren't rushed at all on our 1-hr lunch break. Now lets just see if i don't fall asleep from food coma when i get back to the office!
(3)Martina M.
I've been to Thailand. This is not thai food. The food has no flavor. I actually watched them pour pancake syrup over the fried bananas. I doubt there is real fish sauce in the house. If you want Thai food, check out other restaurants I've reviewed.

This is by far the worst Thai food in the San Fernando Valley. I went in with my family the other night and ordered 5 dishes. The food was bland, and it tasted like it was cooked with an old dish rag . The Pad Thai had absolutely no flavor. When I asked for lime to give the Pad Thai some kick, they brought me 2 pieces of lemon for 3 people. FYI, every dish of Pad Thai all over Thailand comes with lime on the plate. If you like very expensive white washed knock off Thai food this place is for you. I do have to say that their Tom Kha Gai was pretty good. If you like good thai food you should go to Thai 'n I in Encino.

When I'm sick, I'm a big fan of tom yum gai soup so I ordered from here recently and was sorely disappointed. The soup was really expensive (of course, I did grow up with the cheap but excellent Asian cuisine of Monterey Park and other Asian American enclaves) and not great at all. In fact, I couldn't finish it, I disliked it so much. In my opinion, Tom Yum Gai is one of those definitive dishes that every Thai restaurant should do well, so I won't be returning to Exotic Thai Cafe.
(2)Dara M.
A regular lunch spot--love the gang ped (red curry) with veggies, or the spicy glass noodle soup with tofu, spinach, and broccoli. Service is friendly, but can be slow. One of the only decent places around for a Thai tea with boba.
(3)Shari G.
They recently decided not only to raise their prices but to start charging for rice. Considering the food is average (the chicken was overcooked and dry), they shouldn't also squeeze every last penny from you.
(3)Teri G.
Lunch special portion and price was fine, but next time I'll order to go bc service was slow. I do have to say, plenty of ample parking.
(2)Dougie B.
Bomb. I've been here several times for lunch and it's always good.
(4)Rebecca B.
We have only eaten here twice for lunch. We tried two types of spring rolls and both were good. One was a cold Vietnamse-style (with a gloppy sauce) and the other was traditional Thai - small and fried. The pad thai not so good - looks like it was made with ketchup and did not contain many ingredients. The ground chicken with chilis was OK, but not nearly as good as Lanna Thai in Sherman Oaks. I had to add chilis from the little jars to get some heat. The sauce was diluted. The atmosphere is nice but the service is non-existent. I won't be going back.
(1)Ned M.
Great lunch specials. I appreciate the fact that you can get with your lunch special galic beef AND pad thai. I have to say that I appreciate a good pad thai that's not too sweet, but I really appreciate it when I can get meat and rice with it. I think that by itself, it is a bit lacking. Service can be a little slow, so if you work for a clock watcher or you are an hourly employee, you might be taking your chances. However, the staff are very friendly and appreciative of your business, so don't give them too much grief, a'ight?
(4)Stan Y.
Appears to be a mix of chinese and thai dishes. Food here is pretty tasty and flavorful. The Mango sticky rice is very good. Prices, decor and service are good.
(3)Mina L.
Great quick lunch specials. Never had a problem with the service. Quick, filling and affordable.
(4)Nick P.
I wasn't sure if this place was going to be exotic enough for me, but I took one look at that name and was like "Damn. This place must be seriously exotic." The Pad Thai was a little too greasy for me, and only had three prawns in it (yes - I actually counted them). The curry was delicious though.
(3)charley w.
No bad thai selection, good curry, next to movie theater. Curry is good.
(3)H Y.
I was so sad when I found out that Pookie's was closed due to a kitchen fire. So the following day I searched for another Thai restaurant near my hotel. I have been to Exotic Thai in Newbury and Thousand Oaks and I believe this one is by far the best. The tom kha gai was both flavorful and delicious. The pad kee mao was some of the best I've had. All in all a good experience. Also the staff are super friendly and helpful.
(4)Donna S.
yuM~ i stop here when i pass through town ambiance//*** casual, family style eatery service//*** service is standard food//**** flavorful . spicy . w/o the sugar or oil typical of most thai places duck salad~ =9 tom ka gai + whatever else you want ~*~ i like it mostly because the cooking fits my palette no unnecessary artery-clogging thank you~^^
(4)Raoul O.
This hidden little Thai Place serves up all the usual Thai favorites. I always gets the same thing... Chicken Satay, Combo Fried Rice with a side of peanut sauce, and Thai Tea and Coconut water to wash it down. You simply can't go wrong with that meal. The staff is very friendly as well.
(4)Kezo N.
recently had a late lunch, since the place is usually jammed-packed during the lunch period, this time i didn't experience the rude waiter i had on my previous visit, as the new waiter was pleasant attentive and caring a huge plus, ordered their lunch special of Chicken and Broccoli, was ono delicious, and didn't have to pay extra for the rice as someone else as stated, also the appetizer of fried squid was AWsuM i'm definitely planning to make a return visit some time soon !!!!!
(4)Sam S.
This place has become my spot, fast service, and high quality Thai cuisine every time. The Thai iced tea with boba is dank as the heavens above
(5)Kenny T.
This place is the BEST! I like their chicken fried rice (brown rice) and yellow curry chicken. My friends and I eat here often and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy Asian food.
(5)Christopher B.
Easily my most favorite Thai food restaurant. The food is incredibly delicious with a wide range of options. The location is great, located right next to a movie theater. When I was younger, my family would often eat here and then go to see a movie right after. Great service. Great food. Reasonably priced. Try it for yourself. I love it.
(5)Sudy V.
This is the weakest of the 4 restaurants they have around this area. I love the one in Newbury park but the best exotic Thai is the one on lindero canyon. This one in Agoura is called exotic Thai bistro just off 101 in the same mall as regency theater. I ordered my usual chicken satay and fresh roll. The chicken was dry and I have had some Really good satay at Newbury park so it was disappointing. The fresh roll is a beautiful salad with shrimp wrapped in rice paper. While the lindero canyon restaurant does not serve fresh roll but the fresh roll in Newbury park is out of this world. The peanut dipping sauce on the side is to die for. Unfortunately here, there was this layer of oil that made the dipping sauce impossible to eat. Almost inedible. The rolls were smaller and not as flavorful as the others. I also ordered the Penang curry with beef and shrimp. It was ok. I wanted it to be spicy. But it wasn't. The flavorful were minimal. I had to buy the rice separately. That was a bummer, why should I buy rice separately? My son ordered pad thai: that was ok, my wife ordered spicy chicken fried rice: nothing great, flavors were there, but the the rice was dry and spice levels were not what we had requested. We sensed that we got a lot of attitude from the server. I did not like it one bit. I think she assumed we were trying Thai for the first time, I got a general feeling like we were being judged... But the service was ok! Our water was refilled and the food was brought on time. I really do not care about the server. Maybe I am Over thinking perhaps, but this restaurant did not work for me: the flavors were minimal. I will continue to go the regular exotic Thai very close to where I live, I will not like to pay for rice especially for an entree dish. Sorry guys.
(2)Gloria P.
Good food but why do I have to pay for rice? I have had their curry and as of late my favorite is the spicy eggplant. They will ask you what level of heat you want. I order it with beef. It's so delicious and full of flavor. This is my comfort food. My only wish is that the eggplant was cut into smaller pieces. Other than that this dish is perfect. No lunch size portion. So I always have leftovers. Same with the curry. The employees here are nice. The place appears to be clean. Lunch time can get busy so go early or service will be a bit slow.
(4)Randy B.
Great little spot, especially before/after a movie being right next store to the Regency Agoura Hills. I've been to several other locations in this small chain, and I wasn't disappointed, in fact, I was tickled. All good size portions. ----------------------------- 1 & 2 -- Spicy Eggplant w/Chicken ($10) and the Karee Gai (Yellow Curry w/Chicken, $11) had very live and pungent flavors. Both were terrific and couldn't be better. Well priced. 3 -- An order of Fried Rice w/Shrimp ($13) was very good, but a little pricy for what it was. 4 -- Little less than great were the Steamed Chicken & Veggie Dumplings ($9), with an amazing dipping sauce that I'd like to lather all over someone special. Why the low ratings? --------------------------- Service was minimal, and the fact that there were 6 other diners, it made it apparently that the several servers were not busy, just were scarce. That was the low point. But I totally loved the food.
(4)Guadalupe M.
I think there are over priced on there Yellow curry not so good very watery. I ask for extra hot sauce the girl looked at me funny. It was just a small side I was willing to pay.
(2)Niki J.
I absolutely love this place! I'm really surprised to see so many not so good reviews. I've been coming here for several years now and by now they know me by my name and always make amazing food and great service! I usually get their chow main and it's a great dish, my boyfriend usually gets the pad me mow (very spice) and loves it. If you come in during summer they have great sticky rice with mango. I've had most of their menu by now and my favorite are: garlic chicken, massman curry, pad wan seen, pad see ew, fried rice, (both regular and pineapple) basil chicken, spring rolls, satay chicken. (I could go on but these are some of the best to try) The only item on the menu I didn't really like was the 3 flavor calamari... This place is a must to go, and don't forget to order their supper tasty Thai ice tea :)
(5)Joseph H.
Nothing exotic about the culinary journey here. My expectations were fairly modest and they still managed to fall short. The food quality was low. Some of the sauces had a decent flavor, but not good enough to distract from the low quality of the ingredients. Overall not worth the effort. Too bad because they seem like nice folks... But... No.
(2)JT L.
I get the pad see wui, pad thai not great. Also tried a couple lunch combos which were ok. Crab cheese is yummy. Have not found a better place for thai in the area yet
(3)Regina O.
Decent Thai food in Agoura Hills... considering there's hardly any Asian food in the area. I came here a few times during my lunch breaks and always ordered food to go. I've had: Chicken Pad See Ew Chicken Tom Kha Thai Tea The food always comes out pretty fast.. and their portions are pretty big. Its pretty average...nothing about them screams anything special. I've had better but if I'm craving and in the area... why not.

Not so sure about this place, I have been to several other locations and this one by far is not my favorite. The restaurant looked to be closed because of the light being out and the actual sign outside saying closed. However, the lady told us they are opened and to go through the other door. The food came out fairly quickly and the staff was okay, nice but once they go busy, they seemed a bit understaffed. Which I have come to noticed that this is the case with all Exotic Thai locations I have been to. I ordered the Kiew Wan $11.00 Green curry, green beans, squash, bamboo shoots & sweet basil in coconut milk - i felt this dish was lacking the bit of thickness that curry usually has, it was extremely soup like. I was a bit disappointed. However, the flavors were pretty decent. I also ended up getting the Pad Kee Mao $10.00 Spicy pan-fried wide rice noodles with bell peppers, onions & sweet basil - I definitely enjoyed this dish, great favors, had just enough spice for me. I ended up getting the beef with this dish. The staff as I mentioned was soon as it got busy, kind of forgot about us. They put my leftover food in containers, but forgot the check. Overall, I had a okay experience. Unfortunately not the best, i think I will still to the TO Blvd. location (my fav!).
(2)Ryan S.
Very good panang. Easy pickup. I wish the meal had come with rice - seemed odd to have to order a la carte.
(4)Joy B.
Aww man ! I went into this cafe after a really tiring day, for lunch only assuming that I would get some really good Thai food. But yes, I was slightly wrong. Well, they have varieties of Thai cuisine and the best part is, every serving is huge. But what I actually didn't like much about this place is the sweetness in every bit of dish that I ordered. Inspite of asking for some spicy and 'no-sweet' flavor, they still served us that which I did not like much. I ended up wasting so much of rice and the soup and the chicken platter(because of their huge serving) and I did not prefer to box it up either. I believe the cuisine was a little Americanized to serve the locals but as far as a south Asian is concerned, it wasn't a big smile at the end of the meal
(2)Fredy V.
This is a great place to come for lunch if you work in the area. Good daily lunch specials, moderately priced and good food. Friendly staff and plenty of parking.
(4)Srikanth S.
One of the better places to eat Thai food. The place is usually packed at lunch hour. Fast service and good tasting food. The curries have a hint of sweetness but that goes well if you order right. Rice doesn't come free though. Don't forget the Jasmine tea! Try going at anytime but after 8:30pm. They do try to hurry you out at times.
(4)Jonathan O.
Overpriced for thoroughly mediocre Thai food. Good portions, but not great flavor. Won't be back.
(2)Dave B.
Good food, and when we asked for them to hurry because we were going to a movie, they were very accommodating.
(5)Artemis C.
Cannot believe that they still serve food in toxic styrofoam clamshells that cannot be recycled and make your food taste badly. Until they change this, I will boycott this place...
(1)Skylar M.
I went here for lunch, and it was pretty pricey. I spent $20 just for myself. I ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai. The noodles were great, however it was more vegetables than noodles. I would have liked more noodles, instead of the filler lettuce and carrots. There were two pieces of broccoli. If it wasn't as pricey, then that would have been fine. It's a large amount that you get, I had leftovers, but I wanted more noodles! For their eggrolls, you can only order 5 for $7. You can't order just two, or one, which seems a bit weird. The table next to me was upset about that, since it doesn't make sense as an appetizer for one person. The wait staff was very nice, and again the noodles were great. It's just a bit pricey to go for lunch.
(3)Deva J.
It's not going to get five stars. Good restaurants have about 10 or 15 things on the menu because the larger the menu is the less you get in quality and attention. Generally, great restaurants don't have dozens of dishes. For a Thai restaurant, they do a good job. With the limitation of Thai cuisine (after a while everything tastes the same and the only difference is how spicy you want it), they're good. They're nice, it's clean, it is fairly priced, and for us it is convenient to go. We go a couple of times a year.
(3)Laura D.
You should really READ THIS experience.. it gets more juicy: This is the grossest place I have ever eaten at. I tried three different dishes and they were all just salty grossness and that wasn't even the worst part.. The service was actually the worst I have ever experienced. I was with 2 other people, we seated ourselves because the place was deserted and there was nobody in the front of the restaurant and we all did not receive any attention for about 10 minutes so I got up and grabbed the only menu I spotted, a lady then comes from the back kitchen and hands my two friends a menu without asking if we wanted drinks. A few minutes later she comes by and asks us what we want to eat and I'm thinking (do they just not have drinks or what..?) so I mentioned waters for all of us.. and neither I or the two people I was with ever got a refill when our cups were dry(they did not just get low, we were all so thirsty throughout our meal!) Anyways we got our initial waters pretty fast then we were ready to order after a few minutes and the lady comes back, after 20 minutes of talking in the kitchen, to take our orders. She then brings the food out pretty fast and all of it smelled repulsive, I tried my dish and hated it, didn't eat more than 3 bites so my friends that eat thai food a lot tried it and also said it was disgusting. Then I tried their meals that they were not so pleased with and I hated those too. So basically this was the worst place for me already... But then our waitress never returns so I could ask for some sauce to conceal the nastiness of my food or at least give me water!! My friends ate half their food and we were ready to leave... especially cause we were all parched. We were all thinking of just leaving but my friend decided to walk over to the kitchen area and ask for her to grab our check, she did so and walked over to our table with it, we handed her almost exact change and she stood by our table waiting for a TIP! She harassed us, started a fight with the 3 of us, and was borderline yelling at us on our way out stating that we can never come back & that they will refuse service. She would have caused a scene had there been any people in the restaurant! We were not about to tip on a shitty meal with even shittier service!! Is that a joke??? did she actually feel that she deserved a tip, cause I think she deserves to be fired. I work in food service and have absolutely never done anything like what she did, even the worst of customers do not deserve no service but apparently her conversation was too important to ever come back out to help us. Needless to say, I hate this place and was appalled at the experience.
(1)Reyleen S.
I work in a nearby city so this is a spot where we love to go for a good bite to eat. We were just there on 7/11. Their lunch specials are really good; I'd recommend their sizzling beef or chicken plate with peanut sauce or their pepper steak lunch special. Their paid thai is good too. Every time we dine in, we receive good customer service; though certain employees are especially attentive. It's definitely a place we will continue to go to in the years to come.
(5)Jeff Z.
Garlic Salmon. This what I get always when I go there. Staff need to improve attitude. I feel I was on $$ for them nothing else.
(2)Michelle R.
Mango sticky rice was meh, and, at $10, seemed like a rip off, but the mango was super ripe and not fibrous at all.
(3)Steve C.
This review is for take-out. Based on other reviews suggesting the take-out, I gave it a try on a Sunday afternoon. I found the PDF menu on the website and called the phone number. I was able to communicate with the person that answered the phone and ordered a couple of dishes. The person on the phone and I synchronized our watches and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I quickly put on my new Kirkland socks and shoes and hopped in the car. With only 12 minutes to go, I raced on the freeway to the Kanan offramp and bolted to the smell of Thailand by the movie theater. Alas, exactly 15 minutes after the order was made, a white plastic bag with some sort of heat energy coming out was on the counter. I paid with my trusty Mastercard and the race to get home was underway. I agree with others that the take-out is really good. It was packed extremely well and was surprising hot when I got home. I think this is because they also put a layer of aluminum foil inside the styrofoam to keep it hot. Also, if you like those little green thai peppers floating in that magic spicy vinegar, you can ask for a small container with your take-out. I rarely give out five stars, but this place is the perfect place for take-out. Perfect.
(5)Larry B.
Absolutely the WORST I have had in years without exception. I am not sure the country of Thailand would take credit for these recipes. Everything was way too sweet. The soup had so many hard bamboo shoots that should have been strained out before serving that I had to spit them out after every spoonful. Over the years we have tried this place a few times just because it is close to our home and it has been inconsistant. A few times it was pretty good but always over priced with small servings and a couple of times straight up lousy. Last night it set a new standard for LOUSY in my opinion and I will not go back there for convenience, love nor money. We are a very culinary family, my Wife and my Daughter are both decent chefs but we do not expect everything to be spectacular. Nonetheless, there is a point at which something becomes so substandard that it is insulting, especially at the elevated prices Exotic Thai charges which appear to me to be out of line with other Thai restaurants. Last night I would have been happy with barely average but "Exotic Thai" could not deliver that. I am never going back and I will drive as far as I have to next time and leave Exotic Thai to slop the theater goers next door. Bad taste, WAY too expensive and all sugared up for the gringos!
(1)Tony H.
Go to the exotic Thai in Thousand Oaks! This is the same chain, but in Agoura Hills it was a complete disappointment. The food was bland & the service was poor. I'm gonna drive the extra 7 min to T.O. They need to have the Agoura Hills chef here get some training so all there chain delivers consistent great food.
(2)Joojie R.
You've heard of Asian Fusion? Well this is Asian Confusion. We ordered 3 dishes to share and NONE of them had the main "ingredient" listed and pictured on the menu. For example, the Panang Beef with Peppers. It literally had 2 strips of a green pepper. 2 strips. Second, I ordered the Spicy Eggplant with Chicken. And there was maybe 4 chunks of eggplant. It was more like Somewhat-Spicy Chicken garnished with a chunk of eggplant. Third, Rama Garden. Supposed to be steamed carrots, broccoli, cabbage with tofu. And instead, it was literally a bag of spinach with burnt tofu. A BAG of SPINACH just dumped on a plate and peanut sauce on top. It wasn't even cooked spinach. Raw spinach on a plate for $10. The 1 star is for the super fast service.
(1)Onn S.
Love the atmosphere and how the place is clean and nice for dining. I'm a big fan of Thai food and love it!
(5)Dan H.
Thought the food was pretty good. We were on a time crunch so when the order came wrong (no mushrooms) we didn't say anything and decided to eat the food. When the bill came we mentioned the mistake to the waitress she immediately took the item off bill.
(4)Arielle D.
They have a great variety of traditional Thai food such as the soups and the noodle dishes. My favorites are the chicken and vegetable dumplings (so tender!) and a regular bowl of deliciously sticky white rice with a side order of peanut sauce. It can be pricey though. I got the dumplings and the rice and the total added up to about $11, which I feel is a bit too much for such a small meal. The star of this restaurant for me is the Thai iced tea with boba balls. It is sooo good! The drink is basically this dark Thai tea with milk, sugar, ice, and boba balls in it. Sometimes I literally only go there for that drink, especially on the way back from the gym ;) Overall, a good place for a warm and spicy meal and then you cool off with an amazing glass of Thai Iced tea.
(3)Andrea B.
I think they are a bit over priced for the quality of food that they are giving. Their tom kai gai is really good. I come here every once in awhile to get their soup however it is not somewhere I would go out of my way to get. Whenever Ive sat down here to eat at lunch the wait is long.
(3)Vince C.
We came in for a nice dinner over the holidays - the food just was not very good. Pad thai was awful, appetizer was too pepperty, and the short ribs had an unpleasant flavor = too bad. The Exotic Thai on Lindero is much better - have never been disappointed there. Not sure if its the same owners or not. Wouldnt be coming back here..
(2)Tito Y.
Its probably one of the better places in Agoura Hills.. but I have really need to come back and try it again..which will then never likely happen because coming here is a one off. .... ill try to be back though. Had the pad thai.. delicious and well made. I liked the fact that you would be able to get it super hot... sadly.. i wasn't able to finish my meal properly, I had a plane to catch in Burbank and with a car to rent, I had to jet back.
(4)Claudia B.
Went here after the movies. Nicely decorated. Food tasted good going down.......but.......it simply didn't agree with my digestive system. It wasn't food poisoning, either. When that kind of thing happens, I know I just consumed too much oil or grease. I thought about it.......we kept hearing this REALLY LOUD crackling sound coming from the kitchen. For the longest time, I didn't know what it was, and then, I put it all together.....the great quality and texture of the vegies, my reaction to the food, and that sound.........it must've been a huge cauldron of oil, and they were frying and/or stir-frying all their food in it. It had to be something like that because my reaction was typical of too much oil or grease in my system, and Thai food has never affected me like that before.
(2)Elisa A.
we celebrated my brother's birthday last wednesday night and we had a great time! the food was delicious and the service very good!
(4)Adam W.
The food was mediocre. Mainly because it was made for the western palette, given that this is in Oak Park. How authentic can an ethnic restaurant be when it is established in an affluent area. The rule is for ethnic authenticity, you must go where they live. I had the curry. It wasn't bad but lacked the authentic Thai taste. I do know Thai food. I lived in Southeastern Asia for 7 years. I still would continue to go there for a quick fix because it's in the neighborhood.
(3)Loves Yummy Food D.
Today was the first time we decided to go to this place. It was rather narrow so we decided to take it to-go instead of eating there. Our first impression of the food was....OMG so yummy (but oh so pricey!). But then, as we were eating the Rama Thai chicken, we realized that some of the chicken was totally pink and RAW!! The chicken wasn't even thick or big so they must have spent less than 2 seconds cooking the chicken. If it wasn't for the raw chicken, we would totally recommend this place. It's too bad, because the food was sooo delicious! Hope we dont get salmonella because of this!!
(3)Guy S.
I came here the other day for lunch. At first I looked through their regular menu not noticing they had a lunch special menu. After looking at the lunch special menu I know that's what I had to go with. For $8 I was able to get some Pad Thai, Rice, and Cashew Nut Chicken. They serve it to you all on one plate with healthy sized portions. They definitely don't skimp out on the amount of chicken either.
(3)Marin C.
I think their correct name is 'Exotic Thai Bistro.' That's just me being nit picky. Food is pretty much spot on. Service can be sorta slow, we need our water cause we are gringos. The food did come out promptly though, so that was good because we were pretty hungry. Traffic from L.A. will do that to ya. Anyways, if you order the tom kha gai, curry fried rice, and the pad thai like we did you will not be disappointed. Generous portions, serious fullness and definitely delicious. Thanks! They are located right near a movie theater, I think it keeps them pretty busy, if you mention you are needing to get to a show or something they might be accommodating.

Would you like some horse fly with your red curry? Apparently I asked for horse fly curry - and was expected to pay for it. I used to come to Exotic Thai all the time. I'm not exactly sure this place was ever a "favorite" of mine or anything... but it was was cheap, good enough enough to satisfy my hunger for Thai flavors, well portioned and very close to home. Then one day... i was served fly curry instead of red curry. Not just a little gnat or something, but a GIGANTIC FUCKING FLY THAT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD A DIET OF STEROID LADEN SHIT. I don't know where it came from, probably the Congo, but it was the most heinous looking fly I've ever seen. To have it sitting to me... right there... looking up at me between a piece of broccoli and bamboo shoot, well, I just couldn't take it. What's worse is that I had taken a few bites out of my curry and then i lifted up a piece of bell pepper or maybe it was basil... but there it was... right underneath... between that broccoli and that bamboo shoot. eyes up, looking forward like it was ready to be consumed. Fuck, that was disgusting. Like, really fucking disgusting. It wasn't just a tiny fly, it was GIGANTIC!! Ugh. Then I sent it back and lost my appetite. Then when the bill came, that fucking red curry was on there. Not only was it on there, but when I asked for it to be removed they refused. REFUSED! Are you kidding? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? I didn't pay for it - and I told them to shove it. I will never, ever, ever in a million years come back to this place. FUCK YOU, EXOTIC THAI CAFE!

I like the other Exotic Thai Cafe on Fallbrook 'cause of its taste but the one reason I keep coming back to this one is due to its desert; sticky rice with mango. This is the only reason why I keep returning, the only problem is that the desert is seasonal. Once the season is over for mangos, I go back to the other Exotic Thai restaurant. But overall this is good Thai food for west side of the San Fernando Valley. The service may be poor at times but the food is what makes it better.

You should trust my taste, this place makes world class Thai food and insane desert. I found out the place been OPENED for 10 YEARS plus and that proves my point. Plus service and ambiance is great as well. I strongly recommend this place.

Spicy Thai chicken mein was just ok. If you want decent and quick this is where to go but nothing special.

This cafe is nestled in a small commercial plaza and boasts a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The Phad Thai is very traditional and on the sweeter side rather than spicy. The Phad kee mao is flavorful and has mild spices to it. The curry dishes are very close to original Thai food and can be enjoyed by all curry lovers. Don't forget to try the Satay Chicken when you come here. It is among some of the best that I have tried in Southern California. The aromatic Jasmine rice is a perfect compliment to any dish here.

Good Thai food here with acceptable service ... the kitchen is sometimes a little slow, but the food is acceptable thai - nothing to write home about and nothing that I would classify as "must try" or "amazing." The staff accepts special requests with a minimum of hassle (Can you have the chef make that extra spicy? Can you make sure there's no mushrooms?). The to-go food is packaged nicely as well. They could improve some of their appetizers - the "Crab Cheese" and "Fried Wonton" are particularly bad. Imagine fried filo dough with no filling. Don't plan to visit their website to check the menu from your mobile phone, however. It's a nasty mess of Flash and music that starts without asking. Ugh. Website circa 2004. Go straight to their PDF menu - it's full of great pictures that really represent what the dishes will look like when they arrive at your table. Add slash menu 1 dot pdf to the end of the link to avoid the flash nonsense. (You have to put a percent 20 between the menu and the 1 to make this work.) I would rate 4-star, but I took a star off for the evil website.

The best Thai food in the area. Top things to get are the Tom Ka Gai soup and the Sizzling Chicken two crazy good dishes. This is a small chain and all the branches are really good.

I ordered the same dish that I order at the Exotic Thai in Thousand Oaks and when it arrived it was EXTREMELY SPICY. I asked the waitress why it was so spicy and with great attitude she told me that the name of it meant spicy in Thai- as if I was supposed to know this. She brought me my check and a box (seeing that I didn't even touch my food) and left without saying anything. The duck appetizer was pretty good except it was expensive. Overall- not worth the price for the poor level of service.

I've never had a bad meal from here. Always great service, friendly staff and quick. If you have not tried this place yet I strongly recommend it.

We've been to many of this chains places. We like to go to them for lunch usually. We pretty much always have the same thing as well. I guess we are creatures of habit, but to us these two items are what we look forward to: The crab cheese, and the pad thai. I always look forward to a sake as well. It may not be the best, but it certainly does not suck either!!

SHORT review: Do trust the takeout - they are good about packing and preserving what they make. Must have their Exotic Spring Rolls - golden crispy little rolls stuffed with chicken and glass noodles. LONG review: Exotic Thai seems to have several "chain" locations in the Conejo Valley area, but the one in Agoura Hills is the best - always consistent and always good. In particular, I just find that their takeout is fantastic because they pack food in a way that it is STILL good by the time you get it hope. For example, exotic spring rolls, packed in styrofoam and they punch a bunch of wholes in it so the steam lets out and they still taste crisp. NOT all takeouts do this. Pad Thai is great but I don't know what "authentic" is, but it works for me. Karee Gai is a thinner liquid but just so comforting with those potatoes. I just had Pad See Ew with tofu and it was really good. I am definitely a fan and go back at least once a month.

The food was good. The Thai iced coffee was pretty good too. The service was good, except that they were slow because they got slammed and it got really busy shortly after our arrival. So why does this place not make me feel warm and fuzzy? The atmosphere is more or less on the dry side. This place is no frills decoration. The walls are painted orange, there's a few pictures here and there. It's ok, but they look and feel fast food, even though they're actually not. Let's just say they probably spent less on decoration than a heroin junky spends on food. Speaking of food, it was actually quite good. I got the Pad Thai for lunch, and that's actually a tricky meal... Oftentimes, I end up having a sugar coated tongue by the time I get through half of my meal, but not here. Certainly, there was sweetness, but it was not sickening sweet. So the Pad Thai was good. Would I come back again? Yeah, for the food and for the fact that it's near my workplace... Exotic Thai just kind of leaves me dry on atmosphere, though, and I still think that all in all, you should go to Pookie's Thai Westlake Restaurant instead: yelp.com/biz/zEjwGb5F5V1… Still, for $11 for a large plate of pad thai and an iced thai coffee, tip included, you really can't complain too much.

I went there for dinner. The food was ok. not spicy enough though, and they never asked what spice level. service was good and quick turn around time. the bill is not descriptive enough, just a bunch of numbers. so if you go with a group and want to divide the cost, you might have a hard time figuring out what's what....

As was aforementioned, this place has really good lunch specials and they are very filling ($8 for your choice of two entree items; the items change daily). Recently, they also added a menu of noodle and rice dishes for about the same price. I won't say that everything here is good, but there are plenty of dishes that will never fail to satisfy your tastebuds. Some of my personal favorites include the Thai BBQ Chicken, Garlic Pork (my bf's fav), Pad Thai, Shrimp Paste Noodles, and Pad Kee Moa (with shrimp... YUM!). They just redid a lot at this location (kitchen, lighting, wall decor, chairs, menus) and it looks much more elegant and sophisticated than before. The service can lag a bit at times (most obviously when they're busy), but once your order's in, the food's out quick, and the friendly staff always aims to please.

I came here for dinner last night and had the panang curry with chicken and the Mongolian beef. I thought that the atmosphere and service were really good, but they would need really GREAT food for me to return. Panang curry is one of my favorite dishes and neither of these dishes were very good. They just didn't have that fresh and deeply flavorful taste that many other Thai restaurants offer.

I've been to many restaurants in Agoura Hills , and Exotic Thai Cafe was one of the best ! There Pad Thai and Thai Chicken is the most flavor blasting experience . As you walk into the door , they greet you with a very welcoming smile . Their food is unspeakably really delicious . My friends and I would always go there and have the Sizzling Plate . The atmosphere around the restaurant is Great too ! Their soups , wow , don't even get me started on that . It's the best I've ever had that I tried . I would order some To-Go , and it's the best tasting soup I've had , out of all the restaurants I went too . In my Opinion their food is very satisfying . Exotic Thai cafe is an everyday thing for me now .

Consistently good Thai food at any Exotic Thai. Love the pineapple fried rice. Yummy!

This is the first Exotic Thai I went to, many years ago. It gave me a new appreciation for the intricate spices, variety in dishes, and overall deliciousness of Thai cuisine. I instantly fell in love with the Ka Ree Gai (chicken and potatoes in yellow curry) amongst many others including their Pad Thai -- definitely one of the best I've had. Their prices are amazingly reasonable, since everything is to be shared, coming in quite large portions. The atmosphere is nothing special. Being next to a movie theather in a small space makes it less than appealing for intimacy, but who's complaining? Not I, not I. This chain has now followed me into Woodland Hills where I may still enjoy the soul soothing recipes that made me love Exotic Thai to begin with, and their quality hasn't suffered one bit.

The worst Thai food I've ever had. Watery sauces, mushy noodles, BLAND (where were the spices?), and surly service - really terrible.

Went for lunch with four co-workers. They have this soup with coconut and they put the lime in the coconut and it is spicy and had chicken in it. I could have just had that and been perfectly happy. But we ordered spicy eggplant and chicken with snow peas and asparagus and chow mein and something else. Way too much delish food. All very yummy. Our waitress was very helpful with order selections. Will def return.

This is one of the better Exotic Thai chains in the area. The food is good.
